River Journey

The paintings represent a journey from Verdun on the Meuse River in eastern France, via Dinant and Namur in Belgium and then onto the Maas in the Netherlands. The scenery is constantly changing through woodland,  low lands, the impressive gorges of the Ardennes and then onto the mighty Maas in the Netherlands with its many lakes and large areas of water protected by dykes.
